As the youngest in my family, I faced the daunting challenges of a humble background, marked by financial constraints that initially seemed insurmountable.

At the tender age of 8, my world was shaken by the loss of my father to diabetes complications, casting a shadow of solitude over our family. A decade later, my mother’s battle with hypertension and diabetes further compounded our struggles. Despite these adversities, I pressed on and sat for my primary final exams in 2013. However, the dream of joining the county school of my admission was hindered by financial barriers, leading me to embrace the sponsorship of a nearby day secondary school.

In 2017, I emerged triumphant, passing my final high school exams and qualifying for university. Yet, the journey to higher education was not without its trials. During my second semester at university, financial strains threatened to disrupt my aspirations. It was then that I shared my story with a compassionate HOPA Foundation director, whose touching response reassured me that my education would continue. Thus, began my transformative journey as a beneficiary of HOPA Foundation.

From educational support to invaluable mentorship programs, HOPA has been my guiding light, providing the essential stepping stones I needed. Their unwavering support not only enabled me to overcome obstacles but also fueled my passion for success. Today, I proudly stand as a graduate intern in the Domestic Tax Department at the Kenya Revenue Authority, armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounts, conferred by Kisii University. Currently, I am diligently pursuing my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification at Keystar College.

Looking ahead, my ambitions soar higher. I dream of pursuing master’s studies in the field of accounting and finance, aspiring to be a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges. HOPA has been the catalyst for my success, and with continued support, I envision a future where individuals can break barriers and fulfill their extraordinary potential.

My story is not just mine; it’s a testament to the transformative power of HOPA Foundation. Your contribution can weave more success stories like mine. Join us in making a difference and empowering individuals to reach new heights. Together, we can create a future where every person has the opportunity to shine.
