I was born in a small village where dreams seemed like distant stars, I being the third born in the family of six members. Raised up an orphanage after the demising of my parents at an age of six years old. Life in the orphanage wasn’t that easy since there were a lot of challenges this made me to discover strength of working harder for me to achieve my dreams. Financial struggles cast a shadow over my early years since my guardian wasn’t able to cater for our basic needs.
My first taste of triumph came after excelling in my KCPE where a scholarship opened doors despite the odds, and I found myself being a beneficiary to HOPA foundation where they catered for my further education. High school a place where books become my companions and dreams began to shape this made me also to excel in my KCSE. I being a beneficiary to HOPA Foundation wasn’t just a financial relief but also a lifeline to a future beyond orphaned shadows.
I am a third year student from Pwani University pursuing bachelor of commerce, college life brought both excitement and anxiety, as I navigated the world unfamiliar to someone without hope in future. HOPA Foundation not only founded my education but also become a symbol of overcoming obstacles. Each lecture, every assignment completed, was a step away from the past, forging a new identity beyond the label of an orphan.
Amidst the challenges, friendships become my chosen family, and the campus become a sanctuary of support. The journey from orphaned beginnings to a scholarship recipient become a testament to the transformative power of education and resilience.
As I share my story, I hope to inspire others, especially those in similar circumstances, proving that with determination, even an orphan can script a narrative of triumph and create a future brighter than the shadows of the past. My ambition is to give back into the society by helping those in need.
